Pamoja offers internship opportunities to local and international university and college students. Opportunities are based on our current projects. Pamoja identifies needs within the projects and shares with interested students. Pamoja has received interns from the University of British Colombia, Canada through Global Health Initiative (GHI) students group since 2009. Each year, UBC, through GHI project sends about four students to Pamoja for 6-8 weeks of internship. Over the last 9 years, the students have worked on different projects namely mental health, nutrition, health education, microfinance, mushroom farming dairy goat. In 2018, the team of four medical students from UBC worked on the assessment of barriers to family planning and post violence care uptake. At the same time we also hosted students from Northwestern University for 8 weeks who focused on the evaluation of perceived barriers to the uptake of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as an intervention to reducing HIV infections among young women.

Our internship program in 2018 will expand to include students from Emory University, USA and York University, Canada. Pamoja aims to provide diverse cultural experience to interns interested in international and global health in their future careers.
