The public school system in Kenya is severely under-resourced and many students have limited exposure to life outside of their rural community. Pamoja has been working with the Kit Mikayi Secondary School (Kenya) and the Rotary Interact Club at Hillcrest High School (Dallas, USA) to create an internet link program which will provide students from very different countries, backgrounds and cultures with a platform with which to directly relate to each other in a meaningful and mutually beneficial way and create a forum for students to take leadership in developing service-learning projects.

Pamoja CBO is partnering with Park Cities Rotary Club, Hillcrest High School, Kit Mikayi Secondary School and the Kenya Ministry of Education to conduct this activity. It is an ongoing project and will take place in Seme, Kisumu County, Kenya and in Dallas, Texas.

The Link Program furthers our exempt purposes by providing students with a unique communication and educational opportunity to empower them to develop their own community-building projects. Approximately 5% of our time is allocated to this activity.

The Link Program was funded by Park Cities Rotary Club and Rotary International. Pamoja CBO human resources and communication expenses for the project was partially funded by the Texas entity through private donations.
